Stunning embroidery - could be a little more fitted

I ordered this dress in a Small and sent it back as it drowned me (5'5", size 10) but then an XS came back in stock so ordered again. This dress also looked a little bulky on me but because the embroidery is so exquisite, I decided to keep it and am having it altered to give a slightly more fitted look around the bust. The material is gorgeous - lovely seersucker cotton and I'm hoping it will get lots of wear over the remainder of the summer. On a slender willowy figure the oversized look works - just didn't suit me. It's also just w beloknee length on me so will come up a little higher on taller ladies.
